I hear tomorrow in my heart, and still, I am not winning.

I am lonely in the hours, and the fields all growing scarce.
I see earth rolling,...I see it stretch itself in front of me,
offering what it can while I wander, in search.

I feel yesterday beside me. I feel the air turn again.
Sometimes the change is so subtle that I slide inside unnoticed,
but today,...it rocks in storm,
and I can’t help but hold on to the roots I once cultivated.

I spent a season pampering what I thought could fill.
I felt it burn from miles away. And I am lonely,
watching green fade to brown, or life once lived, to death.

Very deep words, my friend.  I can relate on many levels to this one.  Tomorrow is here for us both I think.

I love the way your poetry reads.  This is a great example.

I'm not sure what to say to this one my friend, such a powerful write that leaves me kind of hollow. Excellent work, peace to you!

And I heard your soft cry
through the still dark night air
so I've sent a rare rainbow
to show you I care

Go look out your window,
it's hanging high in the sky
over the brown fields
of yesterday
and tomorrow

I'm not always sure where a poet's words come from ... but-
You've written 'me' ... oh, you've written me.

I hear tomorrow ... today~
My heart hurts~

'watching green fade to brown, or life once lived, to death.'

recovery sits heavy in my heart~
I don't want to watch ... I just don't~

*Hugs*, hon~

Wow, not sure how to reply, except for that it certainly pulls at the heartstrings and that it is magnificently written as usual m'dear.

What an amazing way with words you have. Can I borrow your pen?

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
