Listening to every heart

A Prelude

seems rightly sensible
allowing memory’s drift
to fill in rifts of time, to
decipher through suspended mist
allowed to gather in elder eyes,
looking back on way back
when

preambling that day was rightly one
of the arousings, for mist’s recall, clear,
pure as the fog it came in
on, is still cleansing, a miasma
of awakening, bearing

~*~

quiet inhale, hold,
exhale of living met morn’s
fog, before others’ arousal,
a feel of cool on cool, pillow
as chill as the foggy morn which
seeped in through
screens of canvassed flaps,
and peering

dark green leaves unified and hid
amid dew’s gray, as closer than should be,
bluebird perched, and mind
recalls its beckon to break
dawn, which would behind
silver curtains hide,
but still, bird trilled, enticing
if not the sun, me

small sounds of slow moving
young bodies, stirring humid scents, soon
to warm the chill with laughter,
but not yet, not just yet…

a smell of tang, bunked beds creak in
cabined hibernation, somehow
that mist that preludes dawn makes metal sing,
certainly exuding reminders
of copper, iron, and alloys, bent

~*~

so only the blue, fog, and
I, cool on cool touched, existed,
registering sounds
wound round,
feelings felt fine, pillow’s tick
having let loose night’s hold
so that all senses, then,
brought here, now
having known the gold of that
day as it was
unfolded

still gleams

yes, as is, and was, that morn
of ’63, of then, was only the
prelude

to all tomorrows….

Sunshine, this does indeed show many things. . . but most of all. . . your heart. . .

it fits perfectly my friend. . .
