With stretching arms
the sun leaps into this morning.

I drive you home.

Tired eyes can't mask
the burning within
as we trade remnants of
last night's passion
in sleepy kisses and
sighs and hugs so tight
you forget where you
end and she begins.

If only your schedule
allowed for the hours
you curled into me.
If only we'd slept.

But we kept awake
through caroling crickets
and Orion's passing
and by this bonfire
you lit in my soul.

I drive home and huddle
into a still warm spot
we'd made,
smelling of smiles
and the last sixteen hours
and you.

Oh my...Oh Jeph.  This took me right there and I sat very still in that warm spot you and she had made while I read,
"in sleepy kisses and
sighs and hugs so tight

end and she begins"....well done.  Enjoyed!

This is so nice, and it brings so many memories to me, of nights spent awake, rather than miss a moment of the precious time together. Really well done.

Jeph, this is a keeper, to say the least,

"sighs and hugs so tight
you forget where you
end and she begins."

I love the way that feels *sigh*

you write so gently, so romantically......
