(This was written for a professor of mine who has been an amazing inspiration to me over the past few years)

     I Came to You...

...Unsure of my future
   You gave me direction

...Afraid of failing
   You gave me confidence

...Excited about a success
   You expressed your pride

...Expecting an answer
   You encouraged me
   to stand on my own.

Through all you've done
you've helped me to grow
and to realize that I have
the strength needed to succeed.

I could never repay
the kind of confidence
that you've given to me...
All I can say is "thank you"

we are not always lucky enough to recognize the teachers (not always in school,) who give us true gifts of knowledge and passion. this is a heartfelt thank you, and although my object is of course a tad different, i can share the sentiment.
beautifully done.

Pixiedust ~ Bless you for writing this!  The teachers of this world never get enough praise in my opinion.  I am delighted he/she gave you the confidence to be all that you can be.  Dream big, for all things are possible.  This was a wonderful tribute, and I hope you gave it to them, as all they ever really need is a simple, "thank you".  Wonderful write.

Hi Pixy, this is wonderful, I have two teachers in my life like this, one high school and one college. And I will never forget them.
Unfortunately, I also had a college english prof that discouraged me from writing.
