Confined to the blue encasing of the morning moon--
Which led me the whole way--
You made use of the embedded white above,
Fine-tuning each corner of exposed daylight.
Floating high over my vision’s range
But so parallel to my soul,
You entered the level at which my heart was beating
And brought rhythm to my secret disorder.
Reaching out to the assistance of which I was unaware,
My spirit soared beyond the boundaries I’d made
Inside the years of self-restraining isolation.
Streaming mists of silence rolled into these lungs
As I breathed every ounce of your air,
Taking in what I did not know was your essence,
And urging every part of me to fuse with the fragrance.
Divine hands of silk stroked my face,
Drawing tears from depths not yet stirred,
Even in love’s distantly previous visit.
Watching the clouds align to illustrate
The dancing in my thoughts,
The realization of your presence surrounded me--
The comprehension of you beside me
Reduced me to kneeling on the grass,
For my powerlessness to the immensity of the encounter.
Taking my hands from my face,
You whispered that only the emptiest pieces of life
Are seen through defending fingers.
For so long, I could not see why
This sweater just wasn't warm enough,
Even in mid-August.
It wasn't until you proved how complete it could be
If I would just stop hiding my eyes
That I learned the actuality of your nearness.

tried to write a letter
to tell you how I feel,
but all I kept on writing
was slipping on the tears from the day...

Snowpants...this is so incredibly beautiful!  I cannot pluck one section or line which is my favourite...it is all so breathtaking, as is the picture.  Like a stairway to Heaven.  Thank you for sharing this one.

Boy it was really tough to pull out some lines I loved over others, but these stuck out at me,
"As I breathed every ounce of your air,
Taking in what I did not know was your essence,
And urging every part of me to fuse with the fragrance."
For when there is fusion, brother there is love!  This was fantastic writing.

What a truly beautiful piece of writing here. Amazing
You whispered that only the emptiest pieces of life
Are seen through defending fingers

well its about time ya got yer frostbutt in here and posted a poem for me to read  hehe
obnoxious?? MOI????  lol
this is one very cool poem girlie
and ya know I was relating to that essence and fragrance part...
as always your vision and view of imagery impresses as does your vocabulary...
but it is the emotions that soar across this ones sky and touch down with devotion.
like I said very cool...and groovy too
(why if I didnt know better..I would think you typed this with....q *ack--nevermind*)hehehehehe

We're all feeding our lonely ... like it might go away,
Like the doors of heaven will swing wide ... if we just find the right words to say.

Whoa!

I think you just woke somebody up.

Been trying to wrap my mind around a few things lately and this poem gives me a different perspective.

Maybe there's something I've been missing...

Great write, snowpants.  Marvelous, in fact.  Thank you.

Is it any wonder that I love you so much.  You do so have a way to capturing a soul and then really spoiling him don't you?  I am not complaining mind you. LOL  Your poetry has grown so much since you came to Passions and I am so glad that I get to be so close at hand to watch and enjoy your growth.  The cadence, format, and spellbinding grasp your words hold are now and will forever be cherished as much as you yourself are.  Lovely my dear.

Hugs and kisses.
