Canadian Geese
By: Noah Eaton
9/24/01

I honk with my siblings
Leaving home in the north
Flying the friendly skies
Is my grand resort

I spread my arms out wide
And dive for the lake
Skipping on the surface like a stone
Wabbling in fields of dappled shade

We hold family reunions in cypress swamps
Before the frost blankets the grass
Feasting on the leftovers of maize
As the winter's coming in fast

Next spring, I'll be going back home
To celebrate the spring
To you I share love this autumn's homecoming
We are your kindred relatives, your Canadian Geese

Very nice work.
I never noticed Canada Geese before I fell in love with someone who points them out everytime she sees one.
Now I don't have a choice!

MistletoeAngel~ Are they leaving already??  I'll have to keep my eyes peeled...I love to see their graceful formation making it's way across the horizon.

Lovely poem

Now you KNOW this one loves me right?  I watch them leaving and wonder if anyone cares about them as much as we do.  The parks are so empty without them.  Thank you for this one.
