Sorrow

There is a place where many have traveled,
A place as dark as night,
Beneath the pits of a cold dark tomb,
Sorrow is caught in flight.

A loved one gone, a sad heart,
All alone and feeling blue,
Gone from us forevermore,
The one we loved so true.

A tender kiss, a warm embrace,
A farewell to the precious and few,
To the one in honor of his life,
The one we really knew.

Oh sorrow, when shall you leave,
This saddened heart of mine,
And give me back the peace I knew,
Carrying me away to a better time.

In moments of sadness and despair,
I reach out to touch the sky,
To give a kiss, a warm embrace,
To the one that said good-bye.

As I say that last farewell,
I truly know it in my heart,
There is a place that our loved ones go,
A place where we nevermore shall part.

Until that day we shall meet again,
For that kiss and warm embrace,
I shall carry you within my heart,
A tender resting place.

sunshinemist - sorrow I have known, as she was once my name. But now she is gone forever more, and peace has entered where she reined... Nicely written...
