The End of the World

Why do we have to go sticking our nose
into other people's business and now
in response we have lost so many innocents?
Consider these words I write.
To some I may seem to loose
and to some uptight.
I don't know exactly the words
I want to say.
The deaths nor the pain will not go away.
The threat seems settled here to stay.
For now I will grieve the loss of life.
I need time to determine what
an appropriate response will be
and yet deep in my heart I already know
that we must not allow terrorists
their evil deeds to carry on.
We must search until
the end of the world
until we or every
terrorist is gone.

JamesMichael~
You certainly speak my heart, my friend~

I believe we have an obligation to seek out the evil-doers and do whatever is necessary to see that they do not raise their demonic hand against us again~

Thank you~

James, I feel your uncertainty. I hate the thought of war, or even one more innocent lost, but then what happens if we don't?? What a horrible dilemna, this is the worst thing ever to pass through this country, usually I know I am straight up against war, and especially butting into other countries business. But this is a lot different. Its hard for a former peace marcher to comtemplate. Ah, sorry, went off further than necessary on your poem. But I guess that means it works..

Yes, James, we all need time to let this sink in, to sort through our emotions and to come to some sort of resolution within ourselves. The evil has to be rooted out, without a doubt, whoever is to blame (and I don't believe that it was primarily one person responsible for masterminding it), as well as those who bank rolled this horror, must be brought to justice. Our very existence, our way of life, depends on it.

Thank you Sea, walker, Marge, Sandra and Denise for reading and responding...
Yes Marge I believe we all need to get involved in the safety of our country...all of those terrorist that are living in the U.S. are living next to someone...we can report any suspicious activity to the local police or the FBI...and hopefully they will do something about it before the fact...James
