Beautiful One
as we watch you
streak across the sky
carrying our prayers to
your Father the Sun
and
your Mother the Moon
we are reminded
of your time
among us

you came to us
as a woman of
great beauty and knowledge
and as we sat with you
you taught us the ways
of peace
and how to share the pipe
with those who would be
our enemies

Falling Star
be among us now
and help us again
to share the pipe
and follow the ways
of peace

Note: Wohpe is the Lakota Goddess of beauty and peace.  The daughter of the Sun and the Moon, she spoke for us between the two.  Her name literally means "meteor" and it is said that when you see a falling star, that it is Wohpe, mediating on our behalf.

Wohpe also came to the Lakota as White Buffalo Calf Woman and taught them the ways of the Peace Pipe and how to use and share it.

Not to make "light" of this, but did "whoopee" generate thus?  In all sincerity, these are delightful reads, so keep them up. May you never run out of goddesses to write about...

I do hope you'll turn all your Goddess poetry into an e-book when your project is done. It would be awesome! Great write, as always.
