sometimes the stars are shining in the evening air
and the darkness that will follow you can't compare
the flame you held within your eyes so long ago
it's a flame I see no matter how far you go
from the bottom of your soul it will always shine
and I still sometimes wish that you were mine
the seasons change, yet still I say
that you were beautiful today
if I could share my sunshine
I would share with you
in rain or snow I'd call
with things we like to do
like mix and match with vowels through the night
and beers till one or two
and words that both seem wrong and right
cause that's what we like to do
pull up a chair
and dry your eyes
we'll play till we sleep
with no goodbyes
we'll dance with the tiles
within our hand
as we dream of never,
never land
as we can plainly see
I've got this flashback feeling in me
it's strange and sweet and soft as can be
I've got this flashback feeling in me
from the delta and up to the plains
I can see the glories and pains
from a life made of soft swinging chains
I can see the glories and pains
let me say that I love you and hold you forever
just like all the times in the past
cause when I close my eyes and drift back away
the memory's fading too fast
and you wash all your guilt far away
with a means that you use any way
to see just how much you still play
with the light in your eyes every day

*sigh* There is definetely a song in this. I know what that flashback feeling is like. It can hurt you and make you feel wonderful all at the same time. Very nice writing.
