And The Circle Runs Round

~*Marge Tindal*~

The Dream Hoop~

Ever back from whence we came
and the circle runs round and round
South to North - up the Red road
East to West - across the Blue road~

The Sacred Hoop~

East-the beginning
South-into youth and passion
West-to adulthood
North-to the land of the ancient wisdom
And the circle runs round~

The Sacred Fire Circle~

Centered in love turning within itself
Words spoken in loving respect
return as they are given
Within the fire circle
sticks of wisdom shared~

Soaring on wing of Eagle
Circling~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Oh, I really like this one, Marge. It reminds me of a Bahai friend, a hoop dancer and Lakota flute player named Kevin Locke, whose songs and dances re-enforce the circle of life. I believe the circles of love, beauty and life surround our souls today, as they have always surrounded us, and will in the future.

I, too, enjoyed Duncan's grasp of how your poetry affects people...a calming revival of all that we know, if we would be take a moment to claim it....

Decaying Decadence

Given this view of endless circles
upon which we all tread ...
is there really an end to anything
or is there merely the illusion
that things pass ...
and if they pass ...
would it not be that they pass
through over and over
as time itself
repeats only the chartered realm
where once before we held our breath?

How is it
that we can convey to someone
that time heals all wounds
when we know that history
repeats itself ...
giving reason to the knowledge
that time does not heal ...
but instead takes a break
from the pain and anguish
only to come full circle
and taunt us
with the memories and emotions
of times from lost days
as if scraping a scab
from our wounds
insuring that they never
have a chance to heal completely?

This in turn ...
would lead to the belief
that we are not scarred,
but instead ...
we are in reality
filled with a lifetime
of decaying decadence ...
that may be removed
at the will of history
in the re-making
and causing us to bleed
once again ...
over what we wish
would heal to the tenderness
of a scar ...
instead of the crusty
remains of hurt
that lie in wait
for a sharp edge of life
to break the fragile boundaries
and spill forth ...
the agonizing spoils
of defeat
from the battles
we are supposed to grow strong from.

Is this the truth of living ...
or is this
the justification
that we use to remain
vulnerable ...
allowing us to be human
and offer our weakness
when it is best suited
to the needs we wish to pursue

Only the history
you yourself write
holds the answer ...
just as I hold my answer
within the bonds
of my ability
to believe
in the unexplainable
and accept
that there is a power
and an unconditional love
above comprehension.

As for me ...
      I live ...
           I believe
      I love ...
           I believe
      I bleed ...
in the memory of legends
      I believe stronger

I choose to celebrate
the four winds of direction
and rejoice in the gift of
compassion that comes from
being able to feel pain as
well as joy and I offer praise
to the ancestors that wrote
the history that gives us
this freedom.

OhMyMaga~
How your words settle in the heart of this little Cherokee.

It is said among the people that sit the Sacred Fire Circle that -

'A harsh word runs forever in the Circle, eventually vanishing from the wear against itself.
Love settles within the Circle, embracing it and thereby lasting forever'

Your heart has found this to be so ...
How I love seeing you visit, leaving such beautiful words of wisdom~

'I hold my answer
within the bonds
of my ability
to believe
in the unexplainable
and accept
that there is a power
and an unconditional love
above comprehension.'

margie these words are more beautiful and true than I have words for ....
everything you teach us continues the cycle
and adds a ring of light to guide us...
very cool poem ...
as is the very cool reply by Mark..
see how you inspire

We're all feeding our lonely ... like it might go away,
Like the doors of heaven will swing wide ... if we just find the right words to say.
