"THE DRONE ZONE"

(Copyright 2001 by: MARK V SHELDON)

Feed me!
I'm hungry for some
More candy-coated apples
Like the ones I grew up on --
The blood-red ones you make up so well

Can you tell that
I can't get
Enough of your Trix?
Sugar always makes the medicine
Go down
In a most despiteful way...

Say, can you see
My stomach beg for mercy?
The sweet high is well worth
The crash into the
Drone Zone...

...isn't it?

Now THIS is interesting...

not sure if my interpretation was your intent, but I assure you no drone here--
I liked this Mark...think I'll head for the salad bar myself!

Yummy!!  How did you know I love candy apples?  They have to be the red ones though, not those caramel taffy brown things...the shiny red kind, right?
Good one Mark!

Serenity:  I think you may be on the right track with the interpretation...

Logan:  Hello, Sir.  I'm happy to see you derive a positive interpretation from this one, but let's just say that this one is bittersweet with sacharin...

Nancy...  if only the message were that yummy...

Sandra...  the address change holds a clue to the topic of this "sweet" poem, but I'm glad to see you and commend your positive angle.

Mark!  Where ya been?
Interesting write you've got here...not sure if I understand it completely though.  I'm a big fan of chocolate...is that a bad thing?

Glad to see your name again!

I'll take my apples green and sour thank you. None of that coating to hide the true taste for me!

Nice writing.

hmmm I read this totally different, I took this as you needed more "American Apple Pie", relating to September 11, 2001, and these two lines cemented my thoughts on this:
"Say, can you see
My stomach beg for mercy?"
I think that this was a cry for justice, but what do I know.  And the crash into the drone zone is the draft? (that is the American term right?) - well, you have to admit I have a vivid imagination, otherwise, I love red candy apples too    Either way, I liked it.

Mark, now I need a thorough interpretation of this, please, as I know something more is in it than the sweet versus bitter.

Anything sugar coated is the end of something we could learn from. As in the big picture of life. It's almost as tragic as the picture itself. It's scary what some are willing to do in good intentions??? Or boredom??? or just to have one seeming vivacious moment free from responsibility. I'm a chocoholic....but sugar has its place...not to blind me into a diabetic coma.
Sorry....I'm out there. Great Piece.

Sincerely,
Regina

Krista:  I've been but now I'm not...
Mmmm...  chocolate.  How could such a love be bad?  It's good to be back, and in terms of "understanding it completely"...  try it again through another point of view -- perhaps a little less "surface-level"...

Sinister:  such may be the taste of what lies below the surface...

Mysteria:  your imagination serves you very well indeed and is showing you the door, but you must walk through it.  Don't second guess your intuition.

Ah, Sandra -- that would be too easy...  Consider it again, perhaps focusing on the word "sarcasm"...

Regina, you're on the right track, but are the intentions good?  Perhaps it's not boredom but ignorance...?  (and there's no need to apologize -- it's the very fact that "you're out there" that I'm commending    )

okay I am back!  See I had been through the door, but figured I was way off.  This is about power, "Captains and Kings", and how they mind wash the ignorant into believing whatever they say, in order to get them to do all the dirty work!  Whereever there is power, ignorance, and religion, there of course a "high" for the cause. (I did the 60's) Is it worth it?  No!  Close yet?
