Hi There!

Last night for something to do, as I was feeling a little lonely myself, I just talked to people I did not know on Yahoo messenger.  I met three people that were shut-ins and their life revolved around their computer.  One was a Vietnam Vet, very intelligent, and that is all he does is talk to people and record where there live on his map.  One had agoraphobia, and was so lonely and loved poetry, so I sent her a lot of poems from here.  One was blind so I sent him a lot of music files and he loved them.  They all thanked me for taking the time to talk to them, so I wrote this that I wanted to share with you.

~* Ever Take Time To Talk To Talk To A Stranger? *~

She was hiding and scared for way to long,
Never ever knowing which way to turn;
Afraid the very fire within her heart
Would somehow slowly cease to burn.

Now the only friends she has
Are people she doesn’t really know;
Poets who write such beautiful poetry,
And their words gently warm her soul.

So please if you meet this lonely gal,
Walk softly if you ever go to call,
Because every time she begins to give,
With heart and soul, she gives her all.

She wears her heart upon her sleeve,
Hold it gently so it won’t break,
Let her build her trust in you,
And then what a friend you’ll make.

Now "she" stands for a lot of folks,
Who hide behind a computer screen,
Needing someone to be his or her friend,
To just talk to on their machine.

For whatever reason they‘re lonely,
Take them for who they are, a new friend.
Try talking to someone you don’t know,
Your kindness will be returned to you in the end.

~*~

ya know, when I'm out shopping or something, strangers talk to me quite often, and I never ignore them, I always try to be kind. Even if it's as simple as hello and a smile. You never know how that kindness will effect them, it might be just what they needed. I like this very much. Very heart-felt   hugs, SEA

Well expressed!  And, I'm just like Sea~

What lovely thoughts here. We can never have too many friends in life. And everyone we may now call friend, was a stranger to us once.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Mysteria,  Love your poem and I also love to practice random acts of kindness.  It leaves you feeling so much better.  ~Nancy~

Sea ~ I bet you do, a simple smile to someone, or a good morning can make their day!  Good for you.

Melissa ~ Well...what is our purpose in life if not to make others happy to?  I kinda like my job, how about you?

Tracey ~ There is a poem in what you just said, "once our friends were strangers too", how very true, thank you.

Enchantress ~ You didn't have to tell me you do random acts I guessed that   thank you.

Alan ~ Good on you!  I only took an hour of out a day, and I don't know who felt better them or me, thanks for reading this one.

Mysteria~ You are such a sweetheart   I bet you had a big impact on those people's day.  I always smile at people because I think just that one little gesture makes a big difference.  I know that when I make eye contact with a person, I like to see them smile.

Hugs to you sweet lady,
~Krista

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.
Thank you for having the courage to share yourself so that I can too

When Mysteria speaks
flowers bloom
angels sing
the cold feel warm
the sad smile
and LOVE
runs swiftly
around the earth
from page to page
from heart to heart
from screen to screen
from SEA to SUNSHINE,
and even the MIDNITESUN.

THANKS

You never know when a smile will brighten someone's day.
Sometimes just asking a stranger how their day is going does them good.
Thank you for your wonderful words.

Smitten Kitten ~ A smile can melt the coldest heart, good for you!

Midnitesun ~ How absolutely beautiful that response was, I kept it in my library, no THANK you.

Sinister Handed ~ You have that right, and what a inexpensive way to feel good, instead of chemicals and it works way faster too!  Thanks for reading.

Thank you JamesMichael, but I want to mention that one has always got to take caution in talking to strangers too.  I simply meant share a smile, or talk on the computer - not go up and start a full conversation - they may think you are a tad off

Strangers

Do you see them,
I know I do, since they’re lingering in shadows,
The hiding ones, locked out or behind windows,
Do you know them,
No, not one name, I never ask what who or why,
Perhaps weather, the shapes of clouds in the sky,
I greet all them,
Some will answer, the ones that happen to be near,
Ones still with us, some are too lost and can not hear,
Befriending them,
The almost lost, hanging on to a fragile reality,
When I’m passing, I stop at all the soul flowers I see.

Gloom
