This one had a good ending, for all those that waited, and had news of another sort, my heart, prayers and love goes out to each and every one..gentle smile
----------------------------------------------------
The Wait

Lonely wait in halls of white,
hiding the unfathomable from frighten sight.
Time drags with each tick of clock,
until it seems in certain time lock.
Eyes raise up at every step,
in concert with hearts leapt.

Awaiting word of good or bad,
trying to be light, not show the sad.
For good or bad, the operation was sought,
please let it not all be for naught.
The blade is impersonal as it makes its way,
to bring a sickness to light of day.

Footsteps echo down the hall,
the air in chest seems very small.
Anxiously scanning for look on face,
willing heart to stop its race.
A smiling look comes in view,
a sight which stirs hope anew.

Words came out saying the best,
all for now will take some rest.
Tears of happiness well in eyes,
as contemplating the future lies.
As we go out, another comes in sight,
for their lonely wait in halls of white.

Oh Logan this wrenches my heart, and there are so many, so many.  You did a wonderful thing with this poem, but I guess you know that.  Your heart is filled with so much compassion, thank you for this.

Dear Logan...I know the feeling, the waiting, the searching for a certain promising look in the eyes of the doctor as he arrives in the waiting room...
very well done.  ~Nancy~

With tragic outcomes numbering in the thousands, there are indeed happy endings tenfold that amount.  My thoughts and prayers are with those who've lost, and I'm equally ecstatic for those with "happy endings"...

This is a very wonderfully sensitive write, Logan..

Logan~ How vividely you've expressed this tragic situation...I'm glad yours had a happy ending and I think it's beautiful how you've also shown consideration for those that may not come out smiling.

*Hugs*

And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong

For all of our losses, we have had many gains...

the coming together of Americans being one of them...

well done, Sir!

SO good to see you again, and that this story had a good ending. It is the worst feeling, waiting for news..
