in sorrow, I searched the floor
thinking that I belonged
down here
where life is dark, and cold,
dank, and quiet,
meant for feet,
and under feet,
I lay

in sorrow

but it was not for long
that I lay
in my quiet sorrow,
the wailing
long past, for tomorrow came
and brought me you,
and in you
I found me
again

if I let you down
by laying down,
know that it was only
for a moment
and in that moment of quiet,
I understood
that we must all accept
the dark
in our lives, now and then
to find the sun in our
tomorrows,
and to hear that
there's a when

and that is how
I think of you again
knowing that
you gave me lift
and reasons to go on....

This is a great poem.  I myself have felt as if I where under feet and filled with sorrow. And it is true that
"we must all accept the dark
in our lives, now and then
to find the sun in our tomorrows,
and to hear that
there's a when"

very powerfull. this is going in my library

thanks,
Joe

I can so relate to this.. I've felt these feelings and lived your words. This was a terrific poem, so honest, so filled with hope. I thank you.. Kate

To see this come up again, several weeks after first written, gives this poet a sense of joy that is hard to explain.  For every word we put down, there is a reason...

and all of you who have read this, just saw to that.

Thank you.

deep darkness cloaked me
removing all dark shadows
you walked in my life

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

There are many reasons to go on... reading this one is certainly one of the important ones amongst them.....
