Bruised hearts awaken in nightime favors,
and simple words breed lonely battles.
Can I see through a drunken haze of covered bliss,
to know that I am bound for deception?
There are those who would have me silenced,
for the pain I shoulder is all too often the same as theirs
and they cannot relate how much I really know them.
Can I see throught a drunken haze of covered bliss
to know that I am bound for deception?
I will not be silent about your seduction
if you keep trying to encloak me with it.
So stop
and know I'm not ever going to be yours.
You tread to hard on my wall, my friend
and I there is nothing but the poison of regret around the corner.

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.

haven't been reading for some time and this is sooooo powerful.....hurts to be silent doesn't it, especially for a lady poet!
