where insanity meets breeding

Please sing to me a lullaby
As love's lost tears you gently dry
Let me kneel down at your feet
And listen as I softly weep
Lightly touch me on the brow
As only mothers do know how
Take me mother, hold me near
As you feel my every tear
Listen to my broken heart
About my love that's come apart
I'll even let you say you know
And how it was you told me so
I'd give anything to feel you near
Give anything to have you here
Protect me now from up above
Protect me with undying love

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

yes..this is indeed touching and tender...
and your cadence is wonderful...
youve penned a lovely lullaby of your own.
well done poetess Tracy

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

Tracey, this is so touching. I know whenever I am upset, and holding it in, I have only to speak to my Mom, and it brings on the tears. Cause thats the one person that would always listen and care.
Excellent poem, too.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I lost my mother a few years ago, and when I'm blue, I miss her even more than usual. This was my way of getting it out

Janet Marie-so glad you enjoyed it

Marge-I'm glad it touched your memories. Hopefully all good ones

SmittenKitten-thanks for the hugs. I need them

Arthur-thank you for those high words of praise

RSWells-thanks for that hug. I can never have too many

Zinsser-I'm glad you enjoyed it

Sandra-enjoy those times with your Mom. One day you'll look back on them very fondly

Smart Chick-I'm glad it reminds you of your Mom too.

Sven-thank you for your kind words

  Very lovely, and moving, Tracey!
This reminds me of my Grandma and how I feel about her in heaven~

I'm sure that your mom reads this from above

Take care,
Melissa~

Tracey, you've done it this time. This is beautiful and a little sad for me. Next week, it will be one year since my mother died. We were never close. But I do remember her telling me 'I told you so' twice, and although both times she was right, I never told her so. Wish I could now.

Melissa-I read your poem about your grandmother and it touched me also

Angel Girl-glad you enjoyed it

Midnight Sun-it's always annoying when our mothers are right. But, like you, I too wish I could tell her again

Rex-we never stop thinking of our Mom's, no matter how long it's been

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Tracey-

I was looking at the past weeks poems
as I've been gone from Passions for
quite some time...and I came across this
jewel. This was sad but very beautiful. I
too have lost my Mom...so I know what you
say here. I feel your writing deep inside
of me!!

Take care hon.

P.S. If ever you wanna talk,
feel free to drop me a note.

Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"

Beautiful write, Tracey...thank God for the unconditional love of our Moms...whether or not they're physically here with us, their spirit and impact on our lives will always be...well, like I said, beautifully written...the rhyme flows as gently as the poem...I really like it...

I missed this one the first time around. This touched me so deeply. Many tears. Mom's lap holds the world sometimes. I loved this so much Tracey. Big Hugs!

Sincerely,
Regina
