~*~ The Key To The Door Of Hope ~*~

Locked in darkness fumbling to find the key,
Where is the door of hope usually in sight for me?
Fear, and anger have consumed me in this grief,
Emotions so very fragile, like a falling autumn leaf.

So alone in this room, not one single sound,
No love in sight, only walls, fragile ground.
Darkness befalls like a spider on its prey,
Here in the silence is where I must stay.

Across the room I stare at the door of hope,
But I’m trapped in this room where I sit and mope.
The loneliness and sorrow cuts deep inside,
And this is the place for now I choose to hide.

I sit and wonder "why?", over and over again.
Just too many deaths, it is all so insane,.
How could they leave them there for dead?
I sit and wait to hear news of perpetual dread.

How could another human being be so cruel,
Do we hand out too much trust, are we the fool?
I can no longer sit here shrouded in this evil cloak;
I must get through that door, my door of hope.

I run to the door, push, kick, scream, and yell,
But I cannot escape from this personal hell.
Once again I give up and accept the gloom,
Bow my head in prayer, on knees in this room.

While on my knees, with hands in prayer,
I can now see the door of hope that is there.
The room fills with a warm, glowing light,
Four beautiful angels stand before me tonight.

One speaks of forgiveness, to find in my soul,
One of unity for mankind, one world, with one goal.
One of injustice, accepting loss, and of pain,
And one of the love buried in my heart filled with pain.

I step up ready to exit this dark, empty tomb,
As the warmth of my angel friends fills the room.
They touched me so lightly, and filled me with love,
I smiled, knowing they were in safe keep up above.

The door of hope was always there, I needed no key,
It lives inside of each of us, you and me.
I learned a lesson this dark, gloomy night,
In love, all things are possible, when you unite.

Dear friend your heart beat is in every single word penned. How very sad and hopeless you sound. I just wish I was near and we could sit together and ((hug)) and talk about what hurts deep down inside.
I will try with this magic wand

to open that door of hope for you....
Your poetry touches my soul.
Love and peace Maggie ((~.~))

Mysteria~
This is a lovely expression of the memories that endure~

God holds those lost in His hands ...
and leaves precious memories to those left behind~

My thoughts and prayers are still with the families who lost loved ones~
A world of loving friends will continue to cradle their tears~

Sunshine, Enchantress, Sea, Cphat Hair, Richard, Titia, Songbird, Maggie, Lauren, Marge, Midnitesun, and Janet Marie:

I want to thank you all for responding on this poem, as finding my way back is a difficult task when you are alone, but I am getting there.  I know everyone is finding this so hard, but there is definitely hope, and although things are forever changed, and we grieve for those families who have suffered horrific losses, we have to make it all mean something!  Celebrate the lives of the people gone, for they truly are heros don't you think?  Thank you again, for your kindness.

Sharon....there are so many powerful emotions in this.  It becomes so easy  to fear the key to our door of hope has been lost forever when life drowns us in the loss of friends and loved ones, and seems to be hiding lurking evil at every crossroad along our path.  So many times we all need the warm embrace of a friend...and the tender reassurance that doorway is always open and waiting for us to cross the threshold into healing so that we are able to continue walking the passages of our lives.  My heart is heavy that I haven't been able to be there for you more since my return from your lovely home...and I offer you this most sincere and heartspoken assurance ~ you will always have a "forever friend" in me, and I will be there for you always.
This was so beautiful, and touched my heart in the deepest places.
Hugs and much love to you, always and forever, dawn

This is such a powerful, powerful piece Sharon. You've described this scene so perfectly, and wrapped it with such warmth and inspiration. Beautifully done.

Best wishes,

You can and you are, I've done it, I identified with these words and the compassion that I read coming from your sweet, sweet spirit!
