United in a feeling, brought by people of now gone
The hero’s who now fill our hearts with pride
The normal person in the street, the workers of each day
Who walk with us in memory as grief stays by our side

Many now in place of peace beside our lord above
Departed now from family and the special ones they love
Taken by the devils hand, by terror’s tainted act
Watching from eternity, how people will react

Some petals of our pride have dropped and fallen to our hearts
The feeling of sheer horror etches deep and never parts
The thoughts of day have changed from stress to ones of love and care
For what do our tomorrows bring, if hate lives everywhere?

We pray for all the fallen, all the lives that fell too soon
For mothers and the fathers and the youth
Your death has brought us closer, less divided is the world
United as a spirit and searching for the truth

I thank you all for your wonderful replies and hope that we all find our peace. Times are trying at the moment and uncertainty is everywhere. I have found it difficult to write much lately, but each day enjoy joining my family of poets.
