Autumn’s Entrance

Your warm breath now visible
In small evaporating clouds
The air’s warm tinge is gone
Replaced with the familiar chill.

The seasons exclusive beauty
Yellows, reds, and oranges
Begin a graceful promenade
Across the world’s horizon

Children’s laughter echoes
Joyous play at sunsets light
Delicately blended pastels
Combining in perfect beauty.

Pumpkins eerily coming alive
Mocking grins hiding dancing flames
Keeping watch as the black night
Silently creeps by bringing laced frost

Our world begins preparations
As winter begins to edge closer
Bringing with her a deepening chill
A slumber that settles over the earth

*sigh* How beautiful! I love Autumn more and more these days. I am welcoming it, but here in Mississippi it is just beginning to get cool at night. I can't wait until its permanent.

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.

Oh, this is really nice! It's fall here in Fairbanks, AK. We have been lucky weather-wise, with no sign of snow yet in the Interior.  Thanks for the lovely words.
