From the seas of iniquity
The fog has rolled in
Billowing up in great puffs
Of consuming smother

We are the land of the creeping
Vining constantly into the untouched
Caught in the webs of progress
Spun out in routine and silken dreams
Freewheeling our marks
Of skidding frivolity
Hardly making a dent
In the lives of the already
comfortable and conveniently composed

The good should now have
A different directive.
Not just to overcome the evil
To overcome the lax.

I don’t believe it Was
Supposed to be this way
For our Freedom to do so
Is now something that our young
Think is owed them
That it was never obtained
Through hard work or diligence
And the bloodshed is now
Just a trickle of transparent
Glimmerings left over
As that of a snails trail

Have we too, vined about
Our forefathers throats
And smothered their voices
So that we are no longer
Haunted about the fight?
And made a pretty garden
For anyone to litter

As we were Lying about and wasting
Precious energy. Refining?
That which feeds and nurtures
The force of goodwill

Saving it for a rainy day
For we are okay
To say the least for some
To say much for many

To treasure a good book
To philosophize an interpretation
Are we Atlantis?
Floating around somewhere
In limbo.

We are certainly not in limbo anymore

Our columns have been pushed down
And we may sink
Unless we realize
The threat
That we have been host to
That we have talked about
Over rushed dinners
As if a myth

The myth is upon us
The sea has always been there
Our earth has its scars
To prove it.

Don't blame it on the weatherman
He never needed Doppler
To see the simple
We have overlooked

Our Pompeiis will be many
If we continue to build in faith
That there will be no treacherous
Mountains Rising In the future.
Will we then climb them
In the desparation to flee
The sea’s wrath?
I ask how a ruptured giant
Will be flagged with peace?
For they are already in martyrdom
And have many in line.

For the rumblings of the inner core
Are new everyday
And we are able to place our ear
To the foundation
And listen to the trembling within

But the rolling thunderous waves
Boiling up in the larger part
Of our planet
Have continuously been swelling
Producing a mystic hysteria
For those who never saw it coming

But for those who did
Sadly know of its coming
Are gathering in preparation
In the hopes the Sea
Will once again Calm

As for me, I know
There was only one
Ever able to do that
This might just be
Another reminder

We have forgotten
The sea is looming
As We are now Clouded
In our paths
Our recognition is blurred
Unless we acknowledge
Its ancient existence
And we must become unafraid
To reach out into the mist
And grab hold
And call it by name
Or flee in shame.

Ironically
The sea
Is how we arrived
To liberty.

This was a fantastic poem, and this says it all to me (or my interpretation of it)...

And we must become unafraid
To reach out into the mist
And grab hold
And call it by name
Or flee in shame.

Ironically
The sea
Is how we arrived
To liberty.

This is so very true, but I think your military is ready from what I have seen on the news and "pumped"!
