A Tear of Joy

It wasn’t just the way the morning
sun streamed through the glass
Or how the beads of dew made
sparkling carpet of the grass

Nor did my heart begin to dance when
asters touched my eye
Or lines of geese that navigated
Through the blue of sky

Nor was it bursts of autumn glory
spattering hills with gold
That brought a tear of joy before
the morning would unfold

I feel at peace within the beauty
of this lovely place
Though it was not this splendor
that was glowing on my face

I bathed in sheer aesthetic bliss
before the day would start
It was your poem, your lovely poem
That truly touched my heart

Oh Liz ... whomever this tender and beautiful write is for ... they are most surely appreciative. What a lovely gesture and tribute. You are one that I could in turn, read these same sentiments to my friend.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Liz, is it alright if I'm your #1 fan?!      Because every time I read one of your poems, this is exactly how I feel!
This is so moving, sincere and beautiful!
There's so much talent here at Passions,
and you certainly are the icing on the cake.

Thank you for this sweet offering~

Take care,

Well Melissa took the words right out of my mouth, as I search you out each morning, as somehow your words start my day with some peace, and I thank you for that poet friend.

Elizabeth,

Wonderful...I was deer hunting several years ago..I crunched to my stand before daylight and climbed high up in an old beech tree.  it had drizzled during the night and frozen on everything.  When the sun came up it was bright and clear and shown through a hundred million frozen rain drops and made a prism out of each one. Color bounced off of everything and I was lost for the whole morning at this dance of color....your poem gave me the same feeling.

Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream.
