I wished that you wouldn't have been broken yourself,
And then you may not have broken him.
His heart, already less than put together,
Given to you with full trust and faith,
Your promise to hold it well and keep it always,
And then your betrayal of that promise,
Are all things I have to be angry for.
How could you throw away something you're so lucky to have?
Did you not notice my plea for his pain not to come again?
Did you not see that in the process of healing,
You were taking the life out of someone else?
I suppose we all need time to heal and we even have to break a heart or two along the way,
But I can't help but to be angry with you,
Almost despising you for what you have done.
And although I'm told to go softly on you,
I find that I have tried and just cannot do it.
Although he may forgive you, I never will.
And although I tried, I never fully trusted you.

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.

Temptress - I read much anger, but perhaps justified. Well done writing about this subject...

I would say that perhaps, he chose the wrong one to love.

Well written, and powerfully done.

Whoever this person is, she isn't worth your energy, Jenn.

Hope you are well!

Well...sometimes it does one good to vent anger, and I guess poetry is an excellent way to do it sweet one.  I see lack of trust in this one, and I bet many can identify with that loss, and the subsequent anger.

i feel your anger..have felt it as my own, a long time ago..more than once...

unfortunately..we can tell them, but they will learn only when they experience the pain for themselves..

good for you for offering your little bit of trust in "her" though..thats the difficult part..and its all we can do, is TRY to offer that which is needed..

good venting..

First instincts are rarely wrong, but we can't control the hearts of others (sometimes not even our own)
