Horizons of Gold

Yesterday’s dreams o’er horizons of gold
Are valleys that life would at some time unfold
Exposing strange visions, events unforeseen
Unlike those that dance in the mist of a dream

The days I had pictured were never correct
Nor encompassed the pleasures my heart would expect
Though this weary old soul’s not misguided or lost
Life still pulls surprises with each mountain crossed

The highway before me meanders and twists
As long as a dream in my heart still exists
I’ll envision what possible joy may arise
And let bright golden gleams o’er the hill touch my eyes

Each time I confront a new unventured bridge
One eye on the trestle and one o’er the ridge

This, Lady Santos, is a keeper...and one to share with those as they come to experience a sense of loss, and depression...a reminder that we need to keep our eyes up, and on the horizon...

Excellent!

Now I just knew there would be something on these pages you wrote to make me feel better today, and there it was ... Each time I confront a new unventured bridge
One eye on the trestle and one o’er the ridge
... a good reminder for those who are feeling a little "down" these days, and I thank you.

Wonderful... I'll keep this wonderful little tidbit of advice - I'll likely need it again... and again...
