Sitting on the shoreline
  Watching the waves come in
The air smells of water and salty brine,
  The daylight begins to dim.
How peaceful is our Mother Earth,
  How delicate in its way.
Slowly the nightime takes its worth
From the fading of the day.
The ocean pelts the seashore
  Changing rock and sand
Never tiring evermore
  Moving it with its hand.
And yet the shore contains the sea
  Within its firm embrace,
While the ocean reaches out to me
  With its ever-changing face.
The wind blows softly from the sea
In it birds sing and dive
Singing in their symphony
  Just happy to be alive.
So when peace is stricken by mens hate
And men go off to war.
I come here to this sacred place
  Which shall be here evermore
And I'm reminded of nature's peaceful way
Of how she keeps the status quo
By allowing things to move and sway
  And things together to flow.
So it is with war and peace
  An everchanging dance
And after war has its release
We'll give peace one more chance.

This is lovely RS...in both its imagery and its intended message...
such a beautiful place to find some inner peace.

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

Rob, this is a great write.  The images flow wonderfully with the rhythm.  The theme seems to be getting more relevant with each passing day.

Very nicely written. And I hope the healing powers of the sea will cover the earth, shore-to-shore, and protect the planet from destructive war.

Well done.  I loved the imagery.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
