Near golden sunsets

0 posted 2001-09-22 01:08 AM

I’ve consecrated my life
To the construction and destruction
Of this unhealthy union.
As the self-amputated members
Begin to discover their errors,
The sun sets black on a darker sky.
No fiery impulse coming from the colder climates
Seeks to renew this burning blood.
I stole this body, this head, these arms
That I use to murder them in their beds;
Beds of scarlet hyacinth burning blood.
As they move closer and closer still
To their grave, grave doubts befall them.
They deny it, but deserve it not,
This indoctrinated drama of burning blood.
I will not equivocate, I will not excuse,
I will not flee to the North Star.
I will be heard.
The divorce of greatness, the incompatible tempers
Befall me, follow me
All night, all night forever.

You have a way of writing anguish--I felt this one in my heart. Very well done, Phil, AGAIN.

at the risk of repeating myself.....
--------------------------------

your life is concentrated
in the fire of limbs
fallen off disjointed
whims of sunlight
drowning down

blood onfire
all around

orion's belt loosened
constellations strewn
while hitmen hit the flowers
of our lives too soon

oh god the beds of innocence
are now aflame!
you're masked
intruded now
so sleek upon
the name
which you'd
intend

and oh how i am
so proud to call you friend!

Very cool write MI....
impressive use of imagery and inner rhyme
powerful emote indeed.

The sun sets black on a darker sky.
No fiery impulse coming from the colder climates
Seeks to renew this burning blood.
I stole this body, this head, these arms
That I use to murder them in their beds;
Beds of scarlet hyacinth burning blood.
As they move closer and closer still

Can I say WOW
excellent write poet sir
jm

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

...quoth the raven, the original masked intruder who flies o'er the lands to bring us bits and pieces of truth, in small enough doses to be palatable. Thanks, friend.

*sigh*
Its SO WONDERFUL to see you writing again, my friend.   You don't know how much I've missed your work. Do I really need to say anything here when I loved it ALL?

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.
