A Mother’s Song

A whole new life at once unfurled
When she arrived, so warmly curled
In wraps of cotton, frill of lace
The pink of rosebud on her face

Now all has changed in mind and soul
All senses redirect the goal
A purpose has been found to live
Abounding  love to sweetly give

The gentleness of mother’s role
Is what in truth completes the whole
In day or night her vigil keeps
Until unsettled child sleeps

No task required is ever too great
No hour for nurturing too late
At sounds of stirring I arise
Until the tears’ last droplet dries

And then I wait a little spell
To see her safe and warm and well
Before I lay my weary head
Upon the softness of my bed

This is so precious, Elizabeth. I'm not a mother yet, but I do love children. Just beautiful.

God bless America, my home sweet home.

and this beauty is inspired by a Grandmothers love...
a lovely intend Liz...tender and touching.

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

What a wonderful loving tribute from a very lucky child's mother.
