To Have Not

To have loved so deeply and so true
To have had my life blessed by you
I thought that life had passed me by
That no one had heard my heart sigh
Then you painted my soul with delight
Filled me with wonder and hopes light
Finally I believed we would live free
That we would be together eternally

To have been held in love so tenderly
To have been so touched so very deeply
I believed that fate decreed we’d shine
That all our days would turn out fine
That we would be together always as one
Now those dreams like mist are gone
How now my heart breaks how I cry
All I can do is sit here and ask why?

To have lived wrapped in starlight
To have been graced by your delight
I trusted destiny that we’d always be
And now I’m alone there’s only me
My soul lies broken I can’t take this
I didn’t even receive a farewell kiss
Death claimed you and took you away
Now our love will never have its day

To have walked together in loves land
To have been held gently by your hand
I considered we would have our forever
Now my hearts bond I’ll have to sever
How cruel is fate you said you’d be mine
Suddenly now we’ve run out of time
How can I take this now you’ve gone?
I don’t think I can, how can I walk on?

Marsha

Dedicated to Keth, I know love I know, be strong and I am here if you need me

Take back the hope you gave,- I claim
Only a memory of the same

Marsha,
thanks so  much for this, and thanks for your support over the last few days. I don't know how I would have survived without it. I still don't know that I want to survive but I'm trying for you *HuGS*

Marsha, this is a heartfelt sincere, kind, gesture, giving Keth a voice at a time(as your poem speaks of) when she has had her words taken by loss.
To Keth, for whatever the circumstance,I'm sorry and you will be held in thought and prayer and your are missed around here as well.
take care

This is so beautiful. Such a wonderful, touching tribute to a love. I do not know either of you, but my thoughts are with you Kethry, and Marsha, what a good friend you must be. I'm sure Kethry takes comfort in that
