In Love With Love

I want desire to pulse through my veins
as I bathe in the ecstasy of Cupid's champagne
I want to swim in the warm milk of chocolates
and kiss eternal bliss in the soft summer rain

I want my stomach to flutter with butterflies
across the fields of forever and a day
to see rainbows in your enchanting brown eyes
and gather tears to water destiny's bouquet

I want love, the very depths and heighth of it
I want wedding bells to ring
Eden's choir to sing,
I need love, boundless, glorious love
a confection of perfection...
a sigh in which to fly
to the very ends of the earth
and lie 'neath the stars and gaze above
to see God's smile
shine on the wings of a dove,
I want all that is pure and true
all that is meant to be
found within the soul of you
a spiritual connection born of reverie...
a selfless devotion
a beautiful commotion
beating within the promise of heart's poetry

Together, we'll unlock the great mysteries of romance
to stir the peaceful chime of winds
and our laughter will summon roses to dance
as our masterpiece of bond begins,
and in the strength of your arms, I'll reach heaven
as every moment will be so sweetly cliche
then as angels we'll be in love with love
a dream to flourish and never fade away

Beautifully written. I too am
in love with love, and I think
you expressed how I feel about
love to the "t".

And you should settle for nothing less
this is wonderful Melis...
destined to be a Valentine's day classic!!
Hallmark Cards NEEDS you

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

Yeah. I want that again too. Except the wedding bells ringing. Think I'll leave that part out next time!!!
Beautiful poem.

*sigh*
Geesh..you all have me sighing all over the place tonight. I LOVE this, and just remember to post it in February because it looks like it could be a wonderful Valentine's Day card!   You have a wonderful way with your poetry, yanno? I'm always reading.

Heavenly! You do write so beautifully! We incurable romantics never run out of poems to write about it! Love, Ellie

Thank you so much everyone!

I'm a proud hopeless romantic still searching for "the one"; so, every once in a while I feel the need to write corny, lovey-dovey verse such as this

"Poetry is not an opinion expressed...
it is a song that rises from a bleeding
wound...or a smiling mouth"

~Kahlil Gibran~
