The Shores of Alone

I hate to say it, but it's true
there's really nothing they can do
All who remain are surely gone
though saviors pin their hopes upon.

Once, at least, each day I cry
how could so many people die?
Impossible, yet there it is
such hatred in this world does live.

And next will come more evil force
so fight we must, this darkest horse.
Yet innocents will also pay
though we know where the fault shall lay.

The children suffer either way
as Dads go off to fight this day
and mothers worry for their sons
We know we're not the only ones.

If here or there, the fact remains
from war and hate, come only pain.
I pray for fast completion now
then peace shall reign, our solemn vow.

Cat,

I dont know what to say.
I am heart broken for what has happend. I am a very proud American, and my pride is wounded. I can not understand the hate, the anger nor the great loss of so many lives.   The families and the children, that no longer have a parent. I shake my head in a " quite anger".

Now its time for me to protect our nation and our way of life, the constitution and our freedom. I am willing to give my all and scrifice all for you and all of my beloved Americans.

Thanks for such a touching poem.

Larry

Good work, Sandra.  You've expressed my own thoughts very well.  Thank you for this, my friend.

You have done so well here Sandra. It's so hard to capture the words that strain our hearts. This is certainly the hardest stress test we've ever had...but we have also seen it faced with the most love and spirit than ever before. Hang in there! Hugs and Peace.

Sincerely,
Regina

One wonders where and when it will all end, thinking people know war is wrong so who's callin' the shots? Enjoyed
