For just one single night
I wonder how it would be
to be held there in your arms~
darlin' would you dance with me?

We'd  be dancing all alone
underneath the Texas skies
only the stars and moon above
could see the twinkle in our eyes.

Would you hold me closely
as we were dancing oh so slow,
and right there in the moonlight
just one kiss might you bestow?

Somewhere deep in Texas
we'd be dancing through the night
and I'd stay there in your arms
until Texas dawned her light.

Then if you would take me home
I'd fall asleep there in your arms
yes, I'd sleep the sleep of angels~
as you held me, safe from harm.

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
~Me~

Gentle,

Love our Texas nights....and I love the thoughts you painted so well in this poem...The ending is a great touch in these troubled times.

Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream.

As the Rusty Knight replied...  it can be quite lovely out here beneath the great Texas skies.  And your post captured the feeling.

Oh it is wonderful to dance with your love under our Texas sky. We have enough room for all here at Passions to come and dance under the Texas moon. Enjoyed very much.

This one makes me really want to leave for Texas almost immediately...if only to dance under a Texas sky.  Enjoyed!

oh I want to be in Texas so badly right now.  You all make it sound even more beautiful than it has been told to me.
I think the Gulf down by Corpus Cristi must be beautiful.  Darn I feel homesick, and I'm not even from Texas though lately it sure feels like my heart is lost there.  Seems like a good place to be lost.  *s*  Thanks Ya'll!!   *s*  It makes Texas even more appealing than it already seems to be.  *w*

I have been told that there is nothing quite as beautiful as a Texas sunset.  Perhaps we will both see it someday!  Nice writing with a steady lilt to it.

tried to write a letter

I thank you all so much for the kind words.  It is hard for me being from PA to imagine what Texas is truly like, but the more I hear, the more of a temptation it appears to be.  I have heard so much about the skies in the night time there.  ahhh.....perhaps someday .........lol.  Thanks again all, I appreciate your visions and glimpses so much.  Hugs to all.

It takes a gentle spirit to turn the harsh realities of Texas into a romantic vista...and you do it very well...

Sunshine, I have heard about many of these realities also..  I imagine that if your sharing it with someone you love it must make it easier.   Hugs.
