chill
chill
autumn
brings its
chill thrill
goosely pimples
hairs on end
fingers, toes,
nerve ends send
hints of winter
round the bend
yet as the day
commences nigh
as the sun
soars on high
perspiration
drips from nose
heavy socks
sweat my toes
all of me
at quandary
what is up
cool or hot
do I dress warm
or perhaps not
topsy-turvy
do I feel
should I run
or should I kneel
dust is settling
lives still nettling
wonderin’ what
the days be peddling
one step now
and then again
another step
for mice and men
