September, Kansas

Tonight, the cicadal hum
of rain drowns out the
howls of dog day humidity.

Tomorrow, the falling sun
will accent the trees
in shades of red,
like the road
below.

I love the title of this.  The sounds and colors came through crisp and clear.

okay, okay, i give in....

cicadal hum outdoes pitterpattering

but i don't think cicadal hum could've fit into mine.  it certainly fits into yours...though i don't think pitterpattering would fit into your either.

so i guess we'll just say that both of ours are good?  deal?

oohhh...I LIKE!
But MI is correct..yours fits in with your poem, but it wouldn't fit in with his "Somber"   :supergrins: I do love this though.   Its nice to see you here.

Like the images protrayed here.  It is raining here at this very moment without and within. Thank you for a good read.

I'll bet the cicadas were humming before the rain started to pitter-patter.  *S*  I enjoyed this one.  Thank you.
