Your inner radiance shines like a beacon
Whenever I see you smile
How time seems to go so fast
As I hadn't seen you for a while

But the other day when I saw you
You still retained that inner glow
Such a difficult time you've had
I guess it's hard for me to know

You've touched so many hearts
With your selflessness and grace
How you brighten up our day
When we see that smile upon your face

How very fortunate am I
To know you as a friend
And hope that things go well for you
As all my love to you I'll send

This was written for a friend who had breast cancer. Her name is Joan and she is such a beautiful, warm person.  She has already had a part of one breast removed, then an infection set in and she went back to hospital for a while.  Through all this she can still smile and I feel proud to be her friend...........Sue

Very touching, so sad, but uplifting at the same time, y'know?

Hey, how come the inspiration bird visited you twice and hasn't come to me yet? Huh? Not fair! *Grin*

A wonderful tribute to your friend, she's lucky to have your support and love.
My best wishes go out to her and her family

Suetang-
Thank you for sharing this uplifting story.
Interesting how it is often those who most
need a smile that are the first to give one.
  Nicely penned, my friend.
  Hugs,
  ~Vicky
