Sorry fellow poets, we've had so many thoughtful and expressive tributes to the horrors that described last week and I know mine will pale by comparison, but I felt compelled to speak in my own words, so bear with me if it is a little choppy, it has taken a while to bring myself to the point of expression.

Lady Libertys' torch does still burn.
A page in our historys freedom has taken a turn.

Terrorism & destruction has a new face.
Events even time can not erase.

Amid death and debris, a single flag stands tall.
A symbol of its presence to us all.

Proof that even in times of devistation.
Citizens stand united, a tribute to our nation.

Our countries flag flying through in times of strife.
A symbol to those heroes who have given their life.

And as America faces this time with faith to renew.
In this our toughest time, our flag still flys true.

each voice when joined in chorus becomes a song,
each voice spoken in unison becomes a declaration...

they can not silence us....
good to see you posting again Gem...
dont apologize for sincere & truthfilled poetry
take care

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

Gemini~
Your words come at a time when we still need the reassurance~
The tributes, the memories, the grief ...
will be with us for a long time to come.
Thank you for finding your voice to share~
