Give Me a Child's Day

Let me just be a child again
Free of life's struggles and pain
Allow me to play games
Amongst grasses and plains
Tell me great stories at night
Before you sneak away and turn off the light
Scream at me for messing the dinner table
Let me smile at you face full of bubble
Allow me to cry for no reason
Just to get your attention
If I tell you I hate school
Do not think I am a fool
All I want is to be with you alone
To hug you, pester you and when that is done
I want to wipe away your tears
For I feel when you have worries
Give me a child's day
I'll show you a simple way
To be happy, to be cheerful
I may be little in life's battle
But I can raise a smile
Just be with me for a while

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)

I love this poem.  I think that everyone wishes at some point in their life, that they could be a child again.

Great Write.

Here you are my friend.  We need to do this, it helps keep us sane.

Great poem.

Daniel, sounds like the perfect way to escape for a little while. I love to be a child now and then   even if it frustrates my kids.

Dee

I wish you every happiness and may you always have the best of the good things in life.     a brand

Wise advice. Aren't we all still children at heart?  I know I am.  *grins*

Through the eyes of a child you will see...the world as it should be.  The inner child in all of us is not very deeply hidden...Come lets ride the carousel !

JD~

'Tell me great stories at night'

Stirred lots of memories here ...
My children, grown now, still tell me how much they enjoyed the nightly story readings.

Enjoyed~

Daniel-
