Perhaps … Someday …

Perhaps … someday … I'll understand,
The nature of my human clan.

Perhaps … someday … I'll recognize,
The reasons for our own demise.

Perhaps … someday … I'll comprehend,
The depths of hate we cannot mend.

Perhaps … someday … I'll figure out,
My teachings that are filled with doubt.

Perhaps … someday … I'll reason well,
The purpose of this living hell.

Perhaps … someday … I'll come to know,
Through lessons taught, and learn to grow.

Perhaps … someday … I'll realize,
Beyond just what I theorize.

Perhaps … someday … I'll grasp the cause,
And fathom all that ever was.

Perhaps … someday … I'll see the light ...
Perhaps … someday … but not tonight.

Mankind is such an arrogant sort.. It refuses to learn from the tribulations of its forefathers.  If we could just heed their words - Worldwide peace would have a much better chance of being...

Thank you for your very special introspective words, my dear friend..

Dear Kit, really enjoyed your words, great thoughts which got me thinking as well.
Thanks for the sharing.

Rick

Perhaps someday we'll live in peace
Build on love, just piece by piece
Treat each man and woman well
So stories of earth's love we'll tell

Perhaps someday the worst will be
The last goodbye when joy we see
The best to see our children grow
And in their future love just know

Perhaps there won't be questions why
The shortened life and sad goodbye
Just a world of love and peace
Where smiles and hope all find release

Perhaps ... Someday ...

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll dwell in love,
Amongst the world we’re dreaming of.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll live in peace,
And revel in it’s sweet release.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll sing a song,
Of hatred past, destruction gone.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll garner hope,
And truly find a way to cope.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll understand,
And join our hands across the land.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll make amends,
And view our neighbors as our friends.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll stand as one,
Together all, our sorrows done.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll reminisce,
Upon a life so richly blessed.

Perhaps ... someday ... we’ll see the light,
Perhaps ... someday ... begins tonight.

Kit this was so wonderful and your last line is about right, perhaps someday...is today?  When will they ever learn?  Someday.

Kit ... used ... "sprinkles"

way cool ...

your format and presentation worked perfectly to accentuate the emotions of confusion, sadness, longing, and searching for the answers.
Lovely contenplative piece Kit-girlie,

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

and what is so terribly frightening is that we all have some capacity for anger, some capacity to explode.  It's love that keeps us pure.
