Counting Freedoms

You and I still have
freedom to work
freedom to pray
freedom to grieve
freedom to say

You and I still cherish
freedom to cry
freedom to buy
freedom to fly
freedom to try

You and I still hold tight
freedom to mend
freedom to bend
freedom to heal
freedom to feel

and in the ring
of chimes that peal
You and I count these freedoms
which are more real

for they fly high with the dove
as we hold on to freedoms we love

Free – dom!

Free to be – me
Free to walk – the walk
Free to talk – the talk
Free to cry and Free to sigh
Free to be lifted way on high
Free to pray
Free to laugh
Free to see – and be seen
Free to express
[poetry – nonetheless]
Free to sing
Set church bells to ring
Free to complain
Again and again
Free to compliment
Free to repent
Free to own
Free to praise
Let our voices all be raised!
Free to die
For this USA, our country.

Very nicely written. Pieces like this always brighten my day.

Thanks for the read and take care.

All those freedoms suddenly became more valuable. We can see more clearly now, how they were bought with a price. God bless.
