The Shores of Alone

He died while giving blessings
to the hurting souls around
No thought for his own danger
his love spreading, without bounds.

A beloved and bright light
in a world oft filled with pain
He's gone to comfort others
simply put, he could not stay.

I heard it said, the reason;
that his task was just too much
he had to pass on with them
so to lend his loving touch.

God bless you Father Mike
and all the souls now with you
without brave hearts as your was
There would be no hope, in truth.

One story that touched me heavily(as they all did), was the story of this Franciscan Priest, and Fire Department Chaplain, who lost he life while trying to comfort the dying. God bless him, all the rescuers who bravely joined him, and their families.

Thank you for this Cat....
I too saw a long tribute feature on him,and was deeply touched by the large number of people he quietly touched each day...
God has taken one of his angels home...
his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose life he so unselfishly enriched.
you have done him proud with this tender tribute.

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

CatalinaMoon~
Thank you for sharing the story of New York Fire Department Chaplain, the Rev. Mychal Judge, who indeed lost his own life while praying with a fallen firefighter.

Respectfully, he had removed his helmet to perform the prayer rites and was hit by falling debris when the tower collapsed.

Each story of loss brings a new tear to fall.
God bless the families of them all.
*Hugs*

He was needed elsewhere. That's how I look at it. There were thousands of lost souls who needed help to find their way through the clouds of smoke, to clear skies and the loving arms of God.

Wonderful tribute to a loving soul, and his memory will live on in every heart he touched.

He possessed a wonderful quality as did the firefighters, the police officers, and all those that rushed in to help without thinking of the dangerous situation that existed...James

I can only see that he held the light of home. Summoning all to follow the path. So touched by this tribute. He, and all of those that went with him, will forever remain in my heart. Thank you Sandra.

Sincerely,
Regina

Such a touching tribute. This kind of giving brings us all together. I especially liked
...I heard it said, the reason
that his task was just too much
he had to pass on with them
so to lend his loving touch...

Thank you.

Sandra,
Even through all the scenes of horror and tragedy, the story of this hero touched us all and gave us pride in our ideals.  This is an excellent tribute to the man, but even more, a tribute to the spirit that still flows freely in our country!!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Sandra, so many heroic stories have come out of this tragedy. So many brave souls lost.
