Vengeance

Patience.
Patience,
As the sea
Closing over the memory
Of leviathan.
Become the long and level gray.
Hold.
Surround,
Then dark away
Into a crevice, pure and deep,
As God equates
A cold, steel hull with the innocence
That struck, not once but twice,
That bloody ship,
The ESSEX.
