To Eve

Phantoms ride my field today
Crested red in awes display
Thunder down a road of yore
Plunder me my very core.

Sweeping symbols agony
Breaching walls of euphony
Leaching on my shelters door
Black debris pours on my shore.

Sweet daffodils are down of head
And lilies show the earthen bed.
Brine has blurred my sharp of eye
My rind is pierced until I die

The angels blow in shades of stark
The sun has down to black of dark
The dust surrounds in weight of toll
And sets upon my very soul.

Forgive me this effete end, that
Makes my heart and head to bend.

In Remembrance 09/11/01

Hands holding hands
folding in prayer
words shall stand
as hearts still care

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you
