I just need to say
I want to hear my daughter sing
My baby cry
And my son relate
His day to me
All in the worst traffic jam there ever was
These things can try my nerves
Yet they are beautiful
And I get to keep them
For another day
Thank you Lord
Thank you for my wake up call
At the wheel of life
Forgive me
That it took such loss

(sorry for the title, i meant the feeling of thankfulness at a time like this)

Nicely done Walt. We often take things forgranted until we witness a tragedy. It is then that our eyes truely open and we really thank God for the blessings we have! : )

I too have taken many things for granted. Thanks so much for appreciating your family tonight. I can't wait for mine to all be here with me. I cry for those who will find themselves waiting to no avail.

Sincerely,
Regina

it is so sad that a tragedy makes us love that which was before us all the time isn't it?  Well done.

sometimes when the human heart has too much grief to bear, and there isn't anything that we can do to overcome it, the only healing tool left to us is gratitude....and this poem from you helped ease the pain we all feel right now.  thank you  for that!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Yes I think we all are looking through a new set of glasses. So many things are taken for granted.
