*This is not meant to offend*
~It's meant to be both serious and comical~

Thinkin' Like A Man

Romance is not a word
when you're a man
having more women than baths
because they can
yes, life is easy
when you're a male
you receive respect...
you're a stud, without fail

I'm so tired of being a woman
with my soul on my sleeve,
nurturing and loyal
in the end, I always grieve
for being used, for love lost
because I think like a woman
I pay the cost

So, that's it! I've had enough
nevermore will I shed a tear
If you need me, baby, I'm acting like a man
down at the stripbar, drinking beer

Yes, I'll dangle my heart in your face
and sadistically take it away
then I'll laugh at you with my friends
and add your name to my list of prey

A relationship, what's that?!
for, sex is only a game
I'll play around town and watch sports
and make you think that you're to blame

No, I'll never play the fool again
I'll be macho, arrogant and sly
I'll wait 'til you fall in love with me
then I'll leave you alone to cry

Yes, I'll break your heart
because I can
emotions are dispensable
now I think like a man

Melissa!  I can't imagine ever wanting to stare at linoleum for three hours.  What on earth made you think I'd want to do that?! LOL

Kickin piece of work; I must commend you on your poetic backbone!

Hehehe   Thank you Helen, MaskedIntruder and Sven for your replies...what can I say, I was in a "mood" last night    This is meant to be a joke, not to stereotype men - I know many men who are sweethearts and many women who are players so to speak.

I'm still deciding if I should toss the emotions aside and think like a man - maybe I'll get farther in life now without being hurt, hmmmm?!  Still deciding....

who among us has not at one time or another wanted to be someone (or something) anybody ... anything else.
Like the now and then times I thought I was a girl trapped in a man's body. If you don't mind, this is inspiring me to write an article out of my life experience ...

Okay. I just couldn't help myself.  the more I look at this article, the more wells up within me. Adda boy, Melissa!  There is something hypnotically attractive about a woman who does not act like a woman.  Well, I have to go for now.
Listen to the leaves...

Good poem but as you say, not all men are the same.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Awww Melissa, you need to come on down to Texas....Them Canada boys  been out in the cold way too long girl.  Come on down here where the passion is as hot as the chile peppers.  They would take you out in the moon light in there pick up truck and sing sweet love songs while playing their guitar, pausing only to spit tobacco juice at a scorpion every once in a while.  (and you would find out snuff is dipped not chewed)
So don't give up on men just look a little further south.

I don't drink beer ... and I've never been to a strip club ... the man you describe, reminds me of my first wife.
I've raised three kids, who call me dad ... I've met the type of men you describe, there's lots of them out there but there's lots that are family men too ... so please don't give up looking and condemn us all to the same pot of soup

Hey, Mellisa kid, you be a man and I'll be a woman  . I'll put on my tightest clothes, walk down the street swinging the ole' derrier back and forth like a windshield wiper and, when someone looks or whistles, I'm gonna act all offended like I'm being insulted. I'll bat my big eyes at anyone I'm interested in and and throw a look of death at anyone who looks like they can't afford me. I shall consider the threat on nuclear war to be only slightly less important than a broken fingernail and, when it is time to be amorous, it will be doggy style - they will sit up and beg and I will roll over and play dead.

There...I think I have described women as well as you have described men

LOL@Balladeer!   Well, then I stand corrected

Rex - You sound like a very sweet man - you're a breath of fresh air!

Thank you everyone for your replies to my little rant!
