Near golden sunsets

Listen to the symphonic
chirp of a summer’s cricket
cleanly dying away in
rattail ribbons muffled in
morning’s slow animosity.

Create a new world
in fewer days and more nights,
slipping new aromas into the flower garden
and pain into His soul.
The quandary came and went
with a new line
and reincarnated
into something much heavier.

As the Son peaks
into its hottest hour,
feel the unbearable,
unquenching,
undeniably tormentuous
fear that the Son will set
before you shade your eyes.

Ignore the small thought
that is slowly seeping
from behind your cerebral eye,
telling you that the Four Horsemen
will soon ride again,
and concentrate on the glowing redness of the Son
as your dying soul sets behind the horizon.

You can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep. -- Navajo Proverb

I adore the relation of son/sun...in the hebrew? not much difference. I could go on, but I won't. Sigh...frigging tired..and I KNOW...should have been to bed hours ago...
but?   We won't even go there.

Karen, always expand on those thoughts, God knows where I can take them. *grin*

Joanna, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
