The N’th Degree

She lifts me up to heights unknown
From places that I felt as stone
From feelings that were agony
To moments that are ecstasy

She lifts me up to see dreams true
To sights and fantasies of view
Has wind my wings to fly about
Has cured me of my every doubt.

Still holds my thoughts against a fall
And told me I was ten feet tall.
Has never missed a single beat
Spread rose petals beneath my feet.

She sits a throne within my head
And rules my life from dawn to bed.
She swears to me this N’th degree
And that is how I’ve come to be.

She’s half alive and half contrive
But without her I can’t survive.

Chuckling here at the 'half alive and half contrive'... I love it, Sy... We put our love on a pedestal for sure - sometimes that pedestal is contrived by our minds for sure... but you're right - we need it for survival...

So apparently it's not all of your imagination but a bit of fascination mixed with a bit of machination after all...

Ah Sy - you MAKE our mornings!

Sy - another neat "twisty" poem by you.  I enjoyed it very much.

An "ideal" explanation, Sy -- another one to which I can relate.

And thou deserves no less than this
Days of joy ... nights of bliss
Take thou place upon thy throne
Erected from gold and marbled stone

I'll place crowned jewels upon thy head
Wrap thee in robes of shimmering thread
Worship thee on pedestals high
Write thy name across the sky

Place petaled offerings at thy feet
Grown in Eden's garden of elite
Come before thee on bended knee
Serve thee sweet tea of ecstasy

Give to thee ... the moon and sun
the stars afar ... each and every one
Honor thee in verse and rhyme
Etch thy name in sands of time

We'll go beyond the N’th degree
Fly with me to infinity

Sy

The N'th degree is pretty high
reached by bird or butterfly
and maybe angel wings of gold
could make the feelings you have told

but whoever gives you such great bliss
in my book deserves a kiss
