He Writes

she eavesdropped past his poetry
envisioned the man beyond his time
perceived his whisperings as he
spoke of sounds that tolled his chime

of his daydream, she felt him deep
he, never knowing of her hold
as in her wake, or in her sleep
she gently cupped his words of gold

oh spells he cast, enchantment spread
she heard his mind through his touch
of ink to parchment or by pencil lead
and drew envisioned dreams and such

reading through words of quiet calm
she danced alight his sequins of sound
for they beheld her required balm
and wrapped, enrapt, them all around

O mellifluous, then softer still
coursed his heartstrung words to her
by tick of time he lined her thrill
as if he knew, and loved her pure

by time’s reality, his candle bright
would diminish dim, to dark surrender
truth seized close by her finest light
of heart’s rote evoked his splendor

she eavesdropped past his poetry
oh spells he cast, enchantment spread
O mellifluous, then softer still, she
laid back the coverlets for their bed

of his daydream, she felt him deep
reading through words of quiet calm
and pulls his spirit to her in sleep
as his words rest in her palm

Very nice, my Lady.  You catch a wave of subtle ether with this one and have the mind follow the wafting rhythm of an honest heart.

However subtle or metaphorical our words are, we will in sheer volumne know each other eventually, for true poetry is truth indeed. Well written.

Oh My Lady...time and time again...
you pen my heart....
What a lovely moment of inspire this is...
what an impressive level of inspire this is...the rhyme, the vocab & language, the poetic phrasing...and the soulful intend of the emotions............
You have enchantingly encompassed the gifting of poetry...when we are touched, taught, captivated and drawn to another poets words. For it is there in their verses of vision we may see our own reflection,
For it is in their heartlight that we grow.
This cadence kissed beauty from your pen is a perfect example of what Im fumbling to say here...
what I really want to say is...
IWISHIHADWROTETHIS~
Once again my lady... Im taking this one for my own...tis a "treasure chest" keeper....
and you KNOW what that means.

This is so so lovely, what joy for one to learn that maybe, just maybe joy might lie in the palm of a reader's hands. Wonderful image. Thanks for posting this one, Lady!

It's tender and romantic but wonderfully touching.

In fact it is inspiring a poem in my mind.

wow, this is so wonderful, poetry has such power, and it can be used almost as a 'pickup line' if misused, but most poets I know are true of heart... and I love this because it almost glamorizes the reader as well as the poet.....for both are important for the art to be appreciated

Lady, this is exquisite in it's beauty.  Such a talent you have with words, and we have been blessed to share in that talent.  Thank you dear lady.

Lady love, utterly utterly fabulous, Margie girl is write this is one of your best. He writes, and she writes beautifully.

The flow of this is as smooth as music flows in a symphony, each note, each word flowing into a whole melody. Beautiful writing utterly outstanding work.

Well I simply sighed, and smiled being wrapped in these beautiful words.  JM said it all and I only wish I could write this way once. I now believe this is the nicest piece of poetry you have done, and into the library it goes with a "thank you"!

Consumed by words, which filled each line till end
Entranced by all the stories, born of love and often pain
The poems, which through a lifetime he had penned

When I penned this, I had no idea it would touch so many poets, You, and You, and You, who have made Passions the home that it is...I had hoped a few would read, but You all have exceeded those expectations...

so to all of you, my humble thanks for allowing these words to sink past the recess of your eyes, and on to your hearts.  They were more than comments, you know...they were the glorious, silken ties that bind one poet to another....

I will read You...Poet...

Lady - This was very well written - I especially like the way reading it made me slow down to the rhythm of the poem, rather than allowing me to make the poem conform to my pace.  I wonder if the other poets got that sense of flow out of it too?  As for the sentiments - well, what could I possibly add that could improve upon the words you've already read?  Simply lovely.
