It Stays My Side

A shadow grows and stays my side
Forever watching, my abide.
As time goes on this phantom sews
And takes the seed of all that grows

Ever patient and imminent
It hovers my entitlement.
I feel its presence more each day
In the growing of somber gray

But still I breathe the roses smell
And tell my love that all is well.
I know in time I’ll take its hand
To lead me up to shadows land

But I would pass together please
As butterflies upon a breeze
To fly beyond this sun and light
And pass as one into the night.

When lovers heed a single lane
There is no need for either’s pain.

Sadly beautiful...but we could not see the shadows without the light that makes them...

Constant companion ... enigma of day and of night
A whispered presence ... séanced and summoned by the bending light
And we ... can only look on with shades of jaded envy
Jealous of thy shadow ... for he keeps thee constant company

When it is time, I shall send my greetings.  But it's not yet time, so simply wave it by....

Well done, our Sy!

Such a coverlet of comfort in these lines~
Tending the spirit of another is such a thoughtful gesture~

'Tis not time for lilies! But your path is riddled with petals of life. This one snows them in realization.
