A pregnant pod dehiscent
all along,
spilled in emotive carelessness,
an unkempt Johnny Appleseed.
So sown my myriad musings
now reap the ripened ruins
of a life which clung to
dirted clog tenacious.

What was the mighty oak
whose color changes umber,
being strangled by the kindred vines,
the guilted Blackroot,
wearying Sandpaper
and deceitful, pretty Jasmine.

The empty memories of the
hollow Maso bamboo,
spindly, insufficiant Green Sulfer,
darkened tight knit rage of
the Black bamboo.

Stands the thirsty, aging
Bald Cypress trying at this late date
to shade my lovely lillies,
the Southern Prize,
Beloved Ballerina
and the Belladonna.
They briefly flower, else they
wait in humid pain
for rain and shade
and light.

Their budding season cut to nothing
in a life of scorch and scorn
and lonely drought, interfering insects
who would eat away the good.

Is there time or season yet
for my Iris?

Cuban Rumba, Tahitian Night,
Raving Beauty?
or pray;
Pink Poetry, Rhyme or Reason,
Tranquil Spirit?

There are many clever metaphors at work in this imagery rich write...
and much to be read between the lines as well me thinks....
will be back to read this one again when Im more awake..tis a tad early to go deep *S*

A man who asks a woman to lie for him, is a man who will lie to that woman.
A woman who lies for a man, is a woman who lies to herself.

You danced this well across the path of your garden's delight...well done, Sir!

Yet another well crafted and emotionally charged piece filled with imagery and metaphor to delight the reader... as usual... very nicely done....

Like a painter, you filled the canvas of my mind with vivid images, and I thank you!! I enjoyed your artistry!!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Undoubtedly one of the cleverest titles for a poem I have seen....
