The mad hatter danced
across the stage
with one red boa
for a tail
he led parade
with microphone
and twirled baton
beyond his age...
He wore a trenchcoat of chiffon
leather trousers, rhinestone thong--
he moved with stealth of certainty
as he beckoned all, "come see..."
He curled his finger
in come hither,
crafting wiles within the air...
He pranced.
He spun. He came undone.
Every step a stance of dare.

He danced the way we all long to...
he danced the way I used to do.
I saw a shaman dance tonight.
Magick trance of dark to light.
A gesture from tomorrow's past--
I fell into the looking glass.
I spun for ages without hold...
ages lived and not grown old.

I took a journey with this man.
And though I do not understand
any more
I did before--
I'm glad I had the chance to dance.

I followed you through this story. Rhinestone thong eh? Got a picture?   Sounds like you had a great time. Great words. Thanks for the journey

You make me want to go to another concert.  I'd forgotten what fun they can be.  Nice work, my friend.

leather trousers, rhinestone thong--

I would move with stealth too wearing one of those...ouch.

A lot of energy in this piece as I am sure the subject. *S*

Thanks to all...I admit that I am "Jaded" but this was just "Amazing"--so enthralled I found myself "living on the edge..." and at the end...hey...I was nuttin' but a "ragdoll" from all that "sweet emotion"---

and okay...so this reply was a bit lame, but fortunately, they also played "big ten inch"

ROFL...now I'm off to recuperate...takes me longer these days....sigh...but with a smile.
