where insanity meets breeding

The whistle has blown, it's the end of the line
No more pretending with these dreams of mine
No planning no more for the future my friend
The whistle has blown, and this is the end

The dreams of the future, once held so dear
No longer in sight, they'll never be here
The future that would have brought heaven to earth
Those sandcastles now have turned back to dust

A dream held so tight is not easily lost
When dreams are dear, you don't count the cost
A love so devine is not found here on earth
So when it appears, you know what it's worth

What can I do now my dream has been shelved
It's only by you that I want to be held
The future once rosy has turned into storms
The rain clouds are out but I can't close the door

Can you not see that your soul mate is here
And can you not save her from drowning in tears
Why can't you believe in the beauty of love
That was given to us as a gift from above

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Wonderful write Tracey.  You have captured the feelings well with this emotional piece.

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

Absolutely well-written, Tracey. At first I thought you had received a horrid bit of news from a dr. Then it seems what has happened is the painful loss of a wonderful, hoped-for relationship.

Are we perhaps, then, to hold a dream as we might a butterfly...making certain it always has its wing?

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this.

Vas - this particular butterfly always has a wing (much as I'd like to clip it's wings, I tell you)

Tracey, this was so wonderful. If only they could wake up. Sometimes, they do. But if he doesn't he is truly missing out on a beautiful heart.

Sincerely,
Regina
